Oldham Athletic say threats were made to fans, sponsors and staff, during their failed attempt to sign the striker convicted Rapist Ched Evans. The club say some of those were death threats, and in one case - a relative of a member of staff was threatened with rape. The player meanwhile has issued a qualified apology but has continued to maintain his innocence. Gordon Taylor, the Chairman of the Professional Footballers Association, says the rule of law needs to be applied.
