How much should some of the world's biggest technology companies pay to settle claims they operated a cartel, to keep their wage costs down?

That's the burning question for Silicon Valley names including Apple, Google and Intel right now.

They're negotiating with a Federal judge over settlement costs, following a US Justice Department investigation which found they colluded to ban the cold-calling of each others' staff.

The American economist Irwin Stelzer, at the Hudson Institute in Washington, told us more.
