Mother feels betrayed after son jailed for nearly 13 years for terrorism offences

Majida Sarwar immediately told the authorities when she discovered her son had travelled to Syria. He spent 6 months there, and is believed to have been with the Al Qaeda affiliate, the Al-Nusra front, along with his friend Nahin Ahmed. On the same day he was jailed another man who'd admitted the same offence was jailed for 4 years.
