35,000 water meters have been installed in homes here in the past seven years at a cost of 250 thousand pounds a year. But why is that? Northern Ireland Water have said they are only complying with legislation and have even asked the department of regional development if they can stop putting the meters in. They were told no, even though Stormont has ruled out water charges until at least 2016. So what's going on?
