3000 soldiers from the Lancashire, Dubliners and Royals regiments were billeted with families throughout Stockingford and other areas of Nuneaton, before being sent to Gallipoli.
The National Heritage Lottery Fund have awarded £10,000 to Art Alert so they can collect people's memories before it's too late.
Vic Minett was joined in the studio by John Hickey from Nuneaton and Margaret Wyckes from Bulkington who shared some of their family history.
