Should airlines do more to prevent the spread of disease?

More than 7,000 people have so far been infected with the Ebola virus, including a man who flew from Liberia to the United States.

Now scientists are analysing popular flight routes to map the possible future path of the disease.

At the moment it's up to individual airlines to decide whether to stop flights to and from a region on health grounds - but is the current system sufficient for today's interconnected world?
