Does big business pay enough tax?

Authorities on both sides of the Atlantic suspect the answer to that question could be no.

Last month the US Treasury Department revealed new regulations designed to make it harder for American firms to become tax exiles by locating their headquarters abroad.

And the European Commission recently accused the Irish government of cutting special deals with Apple to cut its tax bill.

Opinion is divided on what exactly these moves will lead to.

We discussed those issues with the noted American economist Dr Irwin Stelzer at Washington's Hudson Institute.
