A new frontier for India in space

Scientists have been celebrating at Mission Control in Bangalore, as an Indian space craft successfully entered orbit around Mars. It's being seen as a red letter day for India's first mission to the Red Planet. The Mangalyaan spacecraft has been on a 420 million mile, 300-day trip.

And its success could open the door to new international contracts for Indian aerospace companies.
