Today BBC Radio Stoke's EMMA THOMAS hears the tale of a 37-year-old woman who escaped from Iran a year ago -- after being the victim of sexual abuse while imprisoned.
Lida is giving English lessons to other asylum seekers in Stoke-on-Trent -- while she waits for a Home Office decision on whether she can stay in the UK.
She was arrested for protesting for the vote during the country's 2009 revolution....
