"Media witch hunt" - DUP MP Sammy Wilson on Pastor McConnell standing down

Controversial Pastor James McConnell is to step down from the Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle. DUP MP Sammy Wilson has strongly defended him saying he suffered a media witch hunt. You'll hear that interview in a minute. Earlier this year Pastor McConnell hit the headlines when he called Islam "heathen" and "satanic". Mr McConnell apologised for any offence caused by his remarks on Islam. But the Nolan show can reveal this morning that a case has been handed by the police to prosecutors. The PSNI say "After investigation, police submitted a file to the PPS on Friday 27 June." DUP MP Sammy Wilson attended Pastor McConnell's church and paid tribute to him just before we came on air.
