Rental demand rises, property supply decreases
Forth News reporter Bryan Rutherford has been investigating rental prices in Edinburgh. Forth News can reveal the average cost of leasing a property is £860 a month. That's an increase of more than 5 per cent on the figure around a year ago, and is over £100 above the Scottish average. Demand for rental properties across Edinburgh has more than doubled in a decade, and property experts are warning of a shortage in supply. Forth News is being told benefit claimants are most at risk of being priced out of the market.
