This month marks one hundred years since the start of the WW1. On August 8th, 1914, the British bombed Dar-es-Salaam, which was then the capital of German East Africa and ushered East Africa into the WW1. At least, one hundred thousand men in the region lost their lives. Though East Africans helped in the fight, their role is not well recognised or documented. The Kenyan coastal district of Taveta was one of the battlefieds in East Africa. The BBC's Emmanuel Igunza has been to see what remains of these grounds.
