Isle of Wight daytrip: A ride on the hovercraft with guide dog Vance (July 2014)

I used to tell people that Vance was so well travelled he'd been on virtually every mode of transport available save for a hovercraft. I'll have to change my line now after Vance and I made a quick hop across the Solent to Rhyde in July. Personally I love the old world charm of the noisy contraption, which somehow feels more at home in a Jules Verne novel than in the twenty first century. The feeling of lifting off the ground and bouncing gently across the water is indescribable, which is why I have recorded the whole experience for you. You won't feel the sensation, but you should at least gain an idea of the atmosphere aboard.
