Unemployment is down to its lowest level for six years -- to a figure of 6-point-8 per cent.

Locally in Staffordshire and Cheshire East fifteen thousand people are claiming Jobseekers Allowance.

The number of people out of work across the UK is now TWO-POINT-ZERO-EIGHT million -- with more than a third of those aged 16 to 24.

Today an education centre in Longton, run by the charity Nacro, has held an open day to recruit teenagers looking to get skills and qualifications.
