Dawn's Degree: Life with Locked-In Syndrome

A mother from Rugeley who has locked-in syndrome and can only communicate using her eyes has completed a university degree.

42-year-old Dawn Faizey Webster suffered a stroke while pregnant 11 years ago.

She and her premature son survived.

But Dawn spent months in a hospital bed before her family realised that despite her body being paralysed her mind remained the same.

Today, as her family celebrate the end of her degree -- which took weeks at a time to write each exam paper -- our reporter Emma Thomas has been to them at their home in Rugeley....
