A Walk along a Rhode Island Seaside Cliff

In the late 19th century, America's elite built their summer cottages along the Newport, Rhode Island seashore. It was the place to see and be seen. Today, a public walkway crosses behind these fabulous old estates, right along the cliff's edge. This recording was made on the property called The Breakers, built in 1895 by Cornelius Vanderbelt II. The photo is of the back of the mansion, which faces the sea.
