"Left to die in the street"

The son of a Staffordshire woman who died after a hit and run is calling for a change in the law -- to see driving offenders serve longer in prison.

Ian Mancor's mother, Brenda Davies, was 79 when she was run down by a driver who fled the scene in Rugeley.

The retired social worker from Doxey in Stafford wants to see a new "hit and run" offence created for the courts.

He's told BBC Radio Stoke he's "appalled" after the man convicted in his mother's case was last week given 6 months in prison and a two year driving ban.
