In this episode of The Telegraph Cycling Podcast, supported by Jaguar Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe discuss the fall-out from Cavendish's crash and assess the success of the opening stage in Yorkshire.
We hear from Christian Prudhomme, the boss of the Tour de France, Simon Yates, who was making his Tour debut for Orica-GreenEdge and Fabian Cancellara who launched a last-ditch attack in an attempt to thwart the sprinters.
There's also a Tour debut for Telegraph correspondent Tom Cary and the first appearance of La Gazzetta Dello Sport's Ciro Scognamiglio.
