VisionAid Technologies Ltd is a family business which was established in 1996. We have steadily grown from selling just Tieman (now Optelec) products, to over 20 of the leading manufacturers’ systems, (over 300 products in total). We strive to give people the best possible choice and advice when they’re looking to find a solution for their particular requirements.
Exiting new developments we’ll be showcasing at Sight Village include:
1). Portable HD magnification with OCR and Text-to-Speech - the new visuPlus active (from Germany) • The new visuPlus active is the first system of this type based around a high end consumer tablet. • Uses the latest Galaxy Note range of tablets. • Comes with an integrated stand and combines high definition real-time magnification with fast and accurate optical character recognition with speech output. • What's more, the product folds very flat and becomes completely portable. • Accessible internet access (with magnification) also opens up the World Wide Web. 10” and 12" screen versions are available.
2). The next generation standalone ReadEasy reading machine - ReadEasy Move 2 • ReadEasy is currently on its 4th generation product (first launched back in 2004). • A sneak peak of the next generation ReadEasy product is being shown for the first time here at Sight Village. Improvements include: • World's first standalone system to support A3 document capture size (with upcoming A3 camera) down to 6pt text. • Up to 6 hour battery life with optional battery module. • World's fastest recognition (under 2 seconds for standard documents). • Improved volume and bass response audio system. • 4K HD live view (ideal for low magnification in real time) and Full HD live quality view at high frame rate, ideal for handwriting (with the Low Vision Pack and upcoming A3 camera) • Believe it’s now the only reading machine designed and manufactured here in the UK, by our sister company VisionAid International Ltd, being exported to over 25 countries.
3). Readit Scholar HD – ideal product for business and education users • One of our best-selling business and education based products. • HD live image quality at close up and distance (21x zoom). • Full A3 image capture (tabloid newspaper page / two pages of a text book) • Due to the advanced software and OCR, documents can be captured and converted into fully accessible text nearly instantly. • Distance OCR. • Very lightweight (1.2 kg / 2.6 lbs). • Folds up very flat 28 x 17 x 4.5cm (11 x 6.7 x 1.8 inches) • No battery to worry about charging. • Optical and digital image stabilisation (unique for a laptop video magnifier)
4). Exceptional quality and value Desktop video magnifier - the i-See ED 19" and 22" • The updated Rehan i-See ED 19" and 22" with offers fantastic image quality thanks to its enhanced definition camera. • Image quality when handwriting (even in enhanced contrast two colour modes) is fantastic. Especially good for crosswords and reading feint print text. • Lines / blinds, focus lock and an automatic preset are features often found of products 1.5x its price. • A fully digital interface ensures no loss of quality. • All units support switch screen (via HDMI / DVI) with a PC or other video device. • Price: Just £1095 for the 19” and £1,295 for 22” version
