Female circumcision "is not cultural, it's criminal”: British MP

The practice of female circumcision, or female genital mutilation, is illegal in the UK, but in practice it still goes on. A report released today by the parliament's Home Affairs Committee says the failure by ministers, the police and other agencies to tackle FGM has led to the mutilation of thousands of girls that could have been prevented.
