#AudioMo Day24: Part of a train journey between London Paddington and Swansea in Wales:
I love recordings (as if that wasn't obvious by now) and in my dusty file archives, I found this long-ago file from February 11th, 2012, in which I take a train to Wales. I like it because I managed to get the train manager's announcements without too much microphone noise, and as more and more systems are automated, to find a human doing the job is still great in my book. I believe if we don't take this opportunity to record as much of those everyday sounds now, there won't be a chance in 10-20 years as everything is changing. All technology is in a constant state of flux, and to me at least, it's important to capture what we currently hear and take for granted even if we may hate it, for the generations that come after us. Rather philosophical I admit, but I do feel very strongly on this topic.
