Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service

The Solent, the strait separating The Isle of Wight from mainland Hampshire is a major shipping route for passenger, freight and military shipping and attracts an enormous number of leisure sailors. The Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service is one of several stations, keeping an ever-watchful eye over this stretch of water. Its Chairman is Keith Thomas, who spoke to Graham Freer.
