What happened when ChangeAgents Branding went on stage at #digitalsummit14

Season 1, Episode 2754,   May 29, 2014, 11:35 AM

Recorded at Digital Media & Marketing Summit in Croke Park Conference Centre on Thursday 29 May 2012.

There were about 300 people in the audience. The Conference was chaired by Anthony Quigley, Digital Marketing Institute. The event was running about 30 minutes late when our session began. The title of our presentation was" Stop everything - attend to your brand" Subtitled: "Don't make people click - make people care."

We began with an explanation of why we were not going to do a conventional presentation - why we we were going to stay sitting on the sofa and have a conversation about the topic.

From the start everything went wrong with the slides. They were displayed in reverse order. You can hear my frustration & annoyance. So our message was delivered through the mess of disorder. After the title slide, the first content slide was an image of a sign saying "GO" - counterpoint to our first message which was "STOP". Earlier, the audience had been kept waiting "in the dark" while there was a technical hitch with the first speaker's slides. From my point of view just about everything that could go wrong at the start did go wrong... You even hear me say "Jon, forget the bloody slides..." Skip all of the trouble by listening from 2 minutes & 40 seconds on...
