Airlines aren't known for their green credentials.

They're accused of polluting the skies with carbon dioxide by burning tax-free fuel.

Now, one airline, British Airways, says it'll start fuelling some of its flights with rubbish.

That's right -- waste that would have gone to landfill will be turned into biofuel to power thousands of its flights a year.

The boss of BA, Willie Walsh, has been talking to my colleague Marie Keyworth. He says says it'll reduce the airline's carbon emissions significantly.

So will the plan to power some planes with rubbish make a big impact on airlines green credentials?

Not everyone is convinced.

Bill Hemmings is from the campaign group TRANSPORT & ENVIRONMENT in Brussels. I asked him what he made of BA's plans.
