Peel plays Teenage Kicks - twice

It’s a well know fact that John Peel rather liked ‘Teenage Kicks’ by the Undertones. So much so, he played it twice in a row on his show, as heard here in September 1978.

Little did he know that Undertones vocalist, Feargal Sharkey, would later emerge as a Member of the Radio Authority, commercial radio’s 90s regulator. I suspect John has been one of the few jocks to play the same song twice and have a long career.
