Auctioning the British passport

The city from which we broadcast - London - is said to be home to the world's largest number of super-rich people.

That's people worth more than 30 million dollars, if you were wondering.

Now, a government advisory committee has recommended that the right to settle in Britain should in fact be auctioned off to wealthy foreign investors, with the proceeds used to help good causes like cancer research.

At the moment, you can get a visa if you offer to invest at least a million pounds in UK government bonds.

Kamal Rahman at the London law firm Mishcon de Reya represents some of those super-rich folk.

The BBC's Mike Johnson asked her what they would make of the idea.
