Argentina's economic lies

Last month the Argentinian government of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner let the value of the country's currency - the peso - drop suddenly against the US dollar, a move aimed at slamming the brake on the huge amounts of money leaving the country.

But that devaluation came at a high social cost - prices on a whole range of products from cars to refrigerators have been driven higher as a result.

Meanwhile, inflation is rampant.

So what's it like living under those conditions? And could all this economic turmoil translate into political unrest? The BBC's Manuela Saragosa speaks to Buenos Aires-based journalist Maria O'Donnell.
