The word 'flamboyant' was often associated with Jay Oliver. Jay was the first MD of the renegade Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton: a station which, alongside Trent, got the regulator shaking its head in despair. As the first station to face commercial competition, it tackled its fight versus BRMB with relish. Here, Jay explains his early strategy.
