Over half of doctors are in favour of charging us up to £25 every time we visit them, according to a poll. The poll of 440 GPs revealed, 51% back a fee - to stop us from turning up 'for no reason'. The thinking behind it is to help lift the burden on an already struggling NHS, with an ageing population that is likely to worsen the problem. One GP was quoted as saying 'People don't value the things if they get it cheap - worse still if they get it for nothing.' However critics say this could leave sick people vulnerable.
