Pete's Listening Day Clip - Peter Jones Hillsborough Report

This was Peter Jones' final report after the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989 for BBC Radio. This happened a few years before I was born but I was shown it about 6 years ago, the fact that I wasn't even alive when this happened and it still means something to me shows what an incredible piece of Journalism it is. The imagery in it is stunning and despite it being an incredibly sad piece of audio about an incredibly sad event, it is one of the most beautiful and touching reports that I have ever heard. It really showed me the power of radio and how often just words alone can be enough. It is sad to think that Peter Jones died shortly after this, with many claiming he never quite got over what he witnessed that day.
