Radio ads in the 80s
Ads tell a story of a time and a place.
Witness the 80s. Hear here the dodgy PI slot for products which were not available in the shops, containing all sorts of spurious ingredients; and two ads voiced by the client. Then there’s a truly classic national ad (from the days when they were fed in mono down the IRN line); an interesting bit of early brand integration in the closest we could get to an ‘interactive ad; and a great ‘Good Life’ award-winning ad from the days when the most important thing was a memorable phone number.
These were the Imperial days when ad durations were 15', 30", 45" etc; and ad logs were written by hand.
Are we better at crafting ads now than we were then? http://davidlloyd-radio.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/radio-ads.html
