An Odd Ditty by TH Dennison, a soldier blinded in France in 1915, featured in Blind Veterans UK Review in 1917, read by Charlotte Cooper Garcha March 2013
Charlotte Cooper-Garcha is a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She read three poems, which were written by Thomas Dennison, an early member of Blind Veterans UK who was blinded in the First World War. An official in a coal mine in Staffordshire before the war, he joined the 8th North Staffs on 7th September 1914. A year later he was totally blinded by a trench mortar at Givenchy in France on 7th October 1915. His poems featured in Blind Veterans UK Review magazine in 1917. This is the first time they have been heard by a wider audience. We thank Charlotte.
