Was the BBC right to limit the playing of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" on its weekend chart show?

'Ding Dong the witch is dead' has reached number 2 in the official UK chart. This is a result of an anti-Thatcher campaign that has pushed the song up the chart, in the days following the former Prime Minister's death. But - did the BBC make the right decision not to play the song in full on their weekly chart run-down? Were they responding to what some saw as a 'distaseful campaign', or is this BBC censorship?
