More childcare - help to get mums back to work or a ticking time bomb that the next generation will pay the price for?
Why bother having children if you're going to plonk them in full-time day-care baby farms from an early age? That's the controversial comment by Belfast Telegraph columnist Finola Meredith. Her views, which have caused quite a stir, are particularly aimed at better-off parents. The coalition government in London says it's planning to improve day care provision, and wants to provide more places for two-year-olds. Fionola says what she calls "baby-farms" are going to get cheaper and more populated. And she claims: "It's the new generation that will pay the price."
