Leading US Feminist and Academic Prof Patricia Hill Collins Admits Only Able to Write Controversial Book After She Got Tenure

One of America’s leading feminists and renowned sociologists Professor Patricia Hills Collins admitted in an interview with award winning film maker Anne Daly that she only began work on her seminal and highly controversial book ‘Black Feminists Thought’ when she obtain a tenured position as a university lecturer and the job security that came with it. In Dublin she spoke about the role of the public intellectual at a meeting organised by University College Dublin Women’s Studies Outreach programme.
